I played sports my entire life, always in season for something. Softball was my main sport from a young age and I went on to play at Indiana University (Go Hoosiers!). After graduation I felt lost, I didn’t know how to work out and missed being part of a team. Thanks to my brother and a former teammate I finally found CrossFit in 2013 and I’ve been hooked ever since. It felt nice to have skills to work toward and a team around me. I missed being able to cheer my teammates on and the feeling of accomplishment after a hard training session or game. I started coaching softball in 2009 (at the age of 18) and started coaching high school weight lifting in 2015. In 2017 I got my L-1 and opened a non for profit CrossFit gym at FHS, I loved that space because students, teachers, and administrators worked out alongside each other as equals. That’s where I learned to coach all types of athletes all at once, from no experience to D1 collegiate athletes. In 2018 I moved to Atlanta and began coaching at a typical CrossFit box.

I really like the goal-setting aspect of CrossFit, instead of focusing on body image, or numbers on the scale, we get to help athletes set goals that celebrate what their bodies are capable of and somewhere along the way get better at life. I hope that for 1 hour a day, each of our athletes gets to let the world melt away and do something for themselves. Something that makes them feel badass and powerful, because they are!
